“They Say I have Red Carpet SAG…I mean SWAG” | ::SM:: Men & Women Favorites

I know you’ve been anxiously awaiting my red carpet review from the SAG Awards! (*wink* ) But wait no more, because HERE IT IS! It was tough picking out the top ::SM:: Favorites from the SAG Awards. There wasn’t just one that I LOVED and none that I really HATED. However, I was able to narrow it down to some of my favorites of the night. Let me know your thoughts — who did you crown “Best Dressed”???

Claire Daines Custom Givenchy
Claire Daines in Custom Givenchy – It’s simplicity with a pop of funk. I love the one shoulder ebony gown with the geometric slit, Awesome. The wine lip – awesome #2.
Justin Timberlake in Tom Ford
Justin Timberlake in Tom Ford – Straight out of an episode of “Mad Men” – It’s old school flavor with new school cool! This look works well for him. Love the texture/print combinations.
Nina Dobrev in Elie Saab
Nina Dobrev in Elie Saab – Simple silhouette with a sheer laser cut of sexy. The watermelon color dress is a perfect compliment to her olive skin tone. Classic.
Eddie Redmayne, in Boss Black
Eddie Redmayne in Boss Black – Not many men can pull off an all brown velvet tuxedo. He did. That is all.
Sarah Hyland in Dolce & Gabbana
Sarah Hyland in Dolce & Gabbana – With all of the blacks and neutrals it was nice to see some color hit the red carpet! This dress is all about the details. The subtle burnout swirl pattern, overlaid with the lighter base of the dress, made for a great contrast. The frayed elements at the bust and waistline took the dress from 2D to 3D! Follow this tips to remove scratches and get your glasses people! I love it!
Viola Davis in Monique Lhuillier
Viola Davis in Monique Lhuillier – Stunning. The fit, the color, the make-up, the combination of it all, awards her as one of the best dressed. I’d like to thank “The Help” (Stylist) for making Viola look amazing!

Soul Train Awards | Best & Worst Dressed

So I didn’t watch the Soul Train Awards on TV, but, I did take a gander at the red carpet photos on SoulTrain.com. I wanted to see if maybe, just maybe, the celebs decided to dress up for this event. Here is who ended up making my ::SM:: Best and Worst list! Check it Out:

BEST: Recording Artist Elle Varner, Singer Marsha Ambrosius, and (to my surprise) Rapper Lil Mama.

Elle did a great job on this one. The silhouette of the outfit worked great on her body shape, giving her the right amount of curve. The wine lip choice was a strong compliment to the black and white aztec print ensemble. “Femininity’s Edge” – The leather trimming and studded shoulder embellishments gave the outfit its toughness, while the softly curled hair and pale pink nail polish gave it a feminine touch. “I’ll bust the windows outcha car” (with a smile!)

Marsha also incorporated leather into her look, but kept it casual. The 3/4 sleeve fatigue shimmered leather baseball jacket looked great paired with the fitted leather skirt.  Her outfit is reminiscent to something a Pink Lady would wear in the movie Grease! Doesn’t  Sandy … Marsha make you wanna be apart of her crew! haha. The contrasting red lip and voluminous hair definitely completed her look for the night. “I got chills, their multiplyin’!”

Lil Mama…oh lil mama. I think this is the FIRST time you have EVER made a list! hah. I think she was the only one that dressed up doe…? Maybe… she thought she was going to the Oscars…? None the less, she looks great! Kinda like Beyonce with the blonde top knot … but great! For once she doesn’t look like she’s trying to hard. I love how this outfit is all about the details. The bow like weave on the bust of the dress is amazing! The soft pleads drape effortlessly to the floor making it seem as if we should be saying “All hail Queen Lil Mama.” (or not?). I like how she kept her make-up and hair simple as to not to take away from the detailing in the dress. Your look is POPPIN girl!

WORST: Rapper MC Lyte, BET Networks Chairwoman and CEO Debra L. Lee, and Recording artist Melanie Fiona

Mc Lyte USUALLY looks good, however, I am not sure where she was going with this outfit on. This might have worked in the early 90’s but, not now. And those pants… WHAT IS THAT VELVET!?! Cute clutch doe.

CEO Debra. What. The. F&@K. Get a stylist.

Melanie like the Asians say at the nail shop… “Pick A Colla!”, that hair aint working. And Baptisms were last Sunday, please return the curtain drapes to your grandma house. You usually look good girl! Was it 4AM when you lost it?

So what do you think? Who made your BEST and WORST list?

You Definitely Can’t “LEGO” of That Bag! | Chanel 2013

So I was roaming around style.com (getting ready to begin selecting my favorite selections of the “C” designers) and happened to come across this Chanel bag! Chanel, known for being classy and sophisticated… came out with a bag that seamed to me as more cosmopolitan! This Lego shaped clutch was certainly a unique accent to the collection – quite the eye catcher!

What do you think!?
