Spring Bridal Show | Charleston Fashion Week

One of the most exciting nights at Charleston Fashion Week was the Spring Bridal Show! The room smelled like a bouquet of flowers, hors d’oeuvres sizzled on the grill, and the sight of cupcake towers made you quickly reconsider the diet you were on! Floating down the runway like small clouds, featured and emerging designers showed some of their season’s best in bridal gowns.

A-line and mermaid silhouettes seemed to be most prevalent that night, with the exception of a few over-sized princess dresses.  The total outlook of the gowns were more soft and delicate, which appealed to the hot-weathered southern audience.

The trend forward looks of the night were the tw0-pieced dresses. This was definitely a look for the young (in shape) girl who is non-traditional and doesn’t mind baring a little skin! You can find these styles featured in Whitney Deal, White Boutique, and Lula Kate’s collections.

Below are some of my favorite looks from each designer and boutique:

Featured Designer –  MARK INGRAM

Designer – WHITNEY DEAL

Boutique – WHITE

Boutique – Modern Trousseau

Designer – Lula Kate

Boutique – Gown Boutique of Charleston

Emerging Designer Winner – Kendra Barnes

An Issue to Get Excited About | FOUR Magazine

cover-4v4-cartel

We couldn’t wait for the next issue of FOUR Magazine to hit the stands! But…it was bitter-sweet. The fourth issue of FOUR Magazine, meant the LAST issue of FOUR Magazine. [ Say What!?] FOUR identified creative moments and sought out the beauty in homes, iconic fashion, artistic expression, and diverse culture that dwells within the city.  It was created to showcase timeless imagery and creativity.

To close  the series, co-founders Nicole Camack and Ciara Bird thought it was best to complete FOUR Magazine with the fourth issue. In celebration of the editorial release and farewell, a launch party was held at the New Gallery of Modern Art in Uptown Charlotte. Did you miss the event?  Check out some pics below! Oh, and be sure to order your copy by clicking HERE!

Fashion In the City |Fundraise and Runways! | Front Row CLT

A fashion show highlighting the latest looks for the season is great! But add a charity to the mix, and your really setting trends! On March 5th, Front Row Charlotte raised $10,000 for Baby Bundles, an organization that helps mothers in need with newborn essentials. Attendees felt honored to give back. but felt even more honored when they got to sit their backs in front row seats at the show! Every attendee at the event got a front row seat and an up close look at each runway ensemble!

But the coolness doesn’t stop there – immediately after the runway show, guests have the opportunity to purchase items right off the runway! Five local boutiques were featured: Coral, Coplons, Poole Shop, Social Dress Shop, and Our Place. Pop-up shops for each participating boutique and designer were featured along side the runway.

Tracy Reese | Fall 14′ Collection Review

The Tracy Reese Fall 14′ collection was wearable and functional! It offered looks perfect for every woman’s lifestyle. Signature party dresses and full flounce skirts were featured in geometric and photo-real prints that looked great on each silhouette. Reese added everyday separates to her line-up that made this collection easy to wear right off the runway! Pull-over sweaters or outerwear jackets looked great paired with full skirts and herringbone trousers. Check out a glimpse of the collection below:

DID YOU KNOW?!:

Style.com said that Reese’s flair for functionality made her a natural ambassador for Tide’s new Washable Fashion initiative in partnership with the CFDA, for which Reese created two full runway looks meant to be washed with Tide Pods. Saving time and money on dry cleaning is a proposition that will surely resonate with Reese’s contemporary customers.

MY POINT OF VIEW:

Certainly an awesome show! I look forward to seeing what’s up her sleeve for next season!
