After reviewing the 2014 BET Awards red carpet photos, I found it easy to spot these stylish celebrities amongst the questionable individuals rocking outfits that didn’t seem quite thought through. :/
For the men, I liked that they looked effortlessly cool in their casual chic ensembles. For the women, I loved the light flowing fabrics and soft floral colors; a perfect complement to the warm L.A. sun.
Check out who made the Top 5 on my list! (in no particular order)

Carolina STYLE: What do you love most about summer? Stacee: The emergence of bright colors is what I love about the season! When the temperature rises, so should the hues! Summertime is all about wearing vibrant colors and bold prints. Whether you’re sitting poolside in a Trina Turk graphic print swimsuit or headed to a rooftop party in a coral maxi, it’s always great to embrace vivid colors during the summer months. The key – look hot in your outfit, but cool in your shades!
STYLE: Where are you headed this summer? Stacee:The first trip I am taking this summer is to Miami, FL! I can’t wait to kick my feet up, relax, eat good food, and enjoy great company. Adding to the fun, I am also going to the Beyonce and Jay Z concert! I have yet to finalized my outfit, but the look will certainly be a compliment to the sexy, sun-coated streets of South Beach.
STYLE: What is your summer style philosophy? Stacee: Easy Breezy. The summer months should be the easiest season to dress. When shopping, opt for apparel items that are easy to create multiple outfits, or looks that are great on their own like a dress, romper, or jumpsuit. Printed palazzo pants and joggers are also an easy silhouette for bottoms that work great with solid crop tops. Enhance your look with accessories to add personality! Think “Easy Breezy” you will have one less thing to stress about this summer.
Fashion is a fast-paced industry, and so is NASCAR! On May 14th, both of these industries joined together to create Catwalk for A Cause!
The 5th Annual Catwalk for A Cause, was started by NASCAR driver Martin Truex Jr. and girlfriend Sherry Pollex to sponsor patients battling cancer at the Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Since its inception, the event has grown from a mere 75 attendees to 650!! Dale Earnhardt Jr., Danica Patrick and several other NASCAR drivers were also in attendance to support the cause.
Best Part! – Nine children from the hospital were able to walk alongside models during the fashion show; rocking the latest in summer style!
“It’s a day when they don’t have to worry about being sick,” Truex said. “They get to come out and they’re the stars of the show. They can forget about their treatments and all the stuff they’re going through and just have a good day that’s all about them.” [read more]

The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation has touched the lives of thousands of children stricken by illness, poverty or neglect. They are committed to working collaboratively with organizations and individuals to help improve lives, inspire smiles and encourage dreams…one child at a time.
FASHION and NASCAR…that’s one collision I could definitely see again! 😉

One of the most exciting nights at Charleston Fashion Week was the Spring Bridal Show! The room smelled like a bouquet of flowers, hors d’oeuvres sizzled on the grill, and the sight of cupcake towers made you quickly reconsider the diet you were on! Floating down the runway like small clouds, featured and emerging designers showed some of their season’s best in bridal gowns.
A-line and mermaid silhouettes seemed to be most prevalent that night, with the exception of a few over-sized princess dresses. The total outlook of the gowns were more soft and delicate, which appealed to the hot-weathered southern audience.
The trend forward looks of the night were the tw0-pieced dresses. This was definitely a look for the young (in shape) girl who is non-traditional and doesn’t mind baring a little skin! You can find these styles featured in Whitney Deal, White Boutique, and Lula Kate’s collections.
Below are some of my favorite looks from each designer and boutique:
